Greetings! July was a quiet month for us, but things are picking up a bit in August and Spetember. We were pleased to have been nominated once again for the CS Indy Awards this year. In addition, we're honored to have been nominated for the Pikes Peak Arts Council Award for Outstanding Group in Polular Music. The award winners will be announced on September 20th. Thanks for your support!
Commonwheel Artists Festival
We are happy to be playing once again at the Commonwheel Artists Festival in our beloved Manitou Springs on September 2nd at 4pm. Come join us in celebrating the arts and Manitou!
Black Rose Acoustic Society - Open Stage
We are excited to have been offered an opportunity to play the Black Rose - Open Stage on September, 27th. The show starts at 7pm and is $7 ($4 for members). Hope to see you there.

"Fly" in NYC:
Our song, "Fly", was written for the Off-Broadway play, The Soldier Dreams, which is opened March 25th, 2011 in New York City. A special piano version of the song was featured in the play. You can listen and download this version from our BandCamp site: burnthemaps.bandcamp.com.

Burn the Maps is a four-piece, mostly acoustic, band based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. They write and perform original songs that create a unique blend of acoustic and electric sounds with intricate three-part harmonies, anchored by tasteful drumming. Their latest release, Terra Incognita, provides twelve unique tracks that invoke their multi-layered indie-folk-pop roots.
Burn the Maps are inspired by artists such as The Swell Season, Death Cab for Cutie, Ingrid Michaelson, The Frames, Coldplay, U2, Bon Iver, Wilco, R.E.M., The Old 97s, Radiohead, Nickel Creek, The Avett Brothers, Mumford and Sons, and many more.
